Shehu and Camara steer Anorthosis past Ethnikos Achna

Abdullahi Shehu and Demba Camara were in superb form as Anothosis secured a 3-1 victory over Ethnikos Achna at the Antonis Papadopoulos Stadium on Saturday.

The build-up to the lively clash was hinged largely on the contrasting fortunes of both sides, with the hosts chasing the title, while the visitors battled top-flight survival.

With the first half failing to produce a goal, Brazilian Douglas Ferreira opened the scoring for the hosts four minutes after the restart.

Ten minutes later, the hard-fighting Ronny Levy's men extended their lead after wantaway Nigeria international Shehu converted from the spot.

However, Andreas Elia raised the hopes of the visitors as he pulled one back three minutes after.

Anorthosis' late push paid off as they recovered their two-goal lead when Camara added the third in the 89th minute to seal the maximum points.

The encounter was Shehu's last appearance for Levy's side, having featured in 48 games for two-season, scoring three goals in the process. The former Kano Pillars right back's switch to Turkish top-flight outfit Bursaspor is, reportedly, expected to be completed in the coming days.

Camara's goal was his sixth in 20 games this season since he joined the Larnaca outfit from Paris FC of France last summer. The win took Anorthosis to second with 44 points from 21 games - a point adrift of table-toppers APOEL.
