RUMOURS: Chelsea handed boost in chase for Lazio captain Biglia

The Argentina international was in talks about extending his contract at Lazio, but has put clubs on high alert after negotiations stalled

Chelsea have been handed a major boost in their chase of Lucas Biglia as the midfielder's contract talks have broken down, according to Corriere dello Sport.

The Lazio captain was in discussions over a new deal with the Serie A club, but Biglia is reportedly unhappy with the offer from club president Claudio Lotito, and will not add to the 12 months he has left on his contract.

Antonio Conte's side are keen on the Argentina international, but could face competition from Major League Soccer side Atlanta United in their pursuit of the 30-year-old.
