Rodolfo Zapata throws AFC Leopards future into serious doubt after Gor Mahia defeat

AFC Leopards coach Rodolfo Zapata may have handled his last assignment for Ingwe in a 2-1 defeat at the hands of Gor Mahia on Sunday

Zapata, who joined the club in May, is considering his options, key among them, quitting the club after falling out with a section of the club officials.

The Argentine remained non-committal about his future at the club saying that he will only plan for the next matches after meeting with the club chairman, Dan Mule.

“I don’t know,” Zapata said in a post-match interview after the game against Gor Mahia.

“I will have to meet the chairman first. That’s when I can talk about the next games,” added the former Gaborone United coach.

According to insiders at The Den, Zapata is said to be facing frustration from a section of his backroom staff whom, Goal understands are being used by a section of NEC member opposed to his policies.

Zapata joined AFC Leopards in May and was on the bench when Ingwe lost to Gor Mahia in the Super Cup at Afraha Stadium.
