SuperSport United are experiencing tough times at the moment especially with the departure of one of their most influential players Jeremy Brockie.
The New Zealand international who went on to bang 54 goals in a 119 appearances for Matsatsantsa before departing for to Mamelodi Sundowns was very much a part of their recent success, and while the goals ran dry towards the final few days of his stint at the club, his loss is still a major blow especially considering SuperSport misfortunes in the league of late.
However, while SuperSport’s current No.1 Reyaad Pieterse is under no illusions of the void that the star striker’s departure has left, he is hopeful that the club will go on to find a suitable replacement with just days remaining in the January transfer window.
"Brocks (Brockie), at the end of the day, he was our main man," Pieterse said.
"He was quality and despite him scoring or not scoring, at the end of the day he was our focal point. He was the guy who used to win us games in the end, and losing a player like that is never easy to replace. So obviously the club will obviously bring in somebody to replace him," he added.

Meanwhile, the 25-year-old has been disappointed by SuperSport’s form of late where they have only won 17 league encounters. Most notably, they were recently dealt a massive blow as they were forced to share the spoils against Polokwane City, which according to the former Kaizer Chiefs goalkeeper dented their confidence a little.
“That killed the spirit, we all felt like we played very well to get the three points,” he said.
“But it wasn’t meant to be and I feel when you going through this rough patch, things like that do not fall for you," he added.
Nonetheless, Pieterse is determined for a positive result when SuperSport clash with Bidvest Wits this coming weekend.
“Definitely, we got to fight again, we playing a big game on Saturday against Wits, so it doesn’t get any easier than this, but we know what we need to do and we will find till the end,” he concluded.
