Sanya Senior Grammar School put in a spirited performance to defeat resilient Ijaiye Housing Estate Senior Grammar School 3-2 to progress to the semifinals of the GTBank Principals Cup.
Sanya got the curtain raiser through Opeyemi Ahmed to make their dominance count. But just before the break, against the run of play, Ijaiye Housing Estate got a leveller with Temitope Olaonipekun tapping into an unguarded net.
The second half started with the Ojokoro outfit taking the lead for the first time in the game via Aminat Yusuf from the penalty spot. Immediately, Onyeka Okafor restored parity for Sanya Senior Grammar School from a similar situation after an infringement was spotted in the penalty area by the referee.
Five minutes before full time, Nofisat Oladapo got the goal that sent Sanya Senior Grammar School into the semifinals of the GTBank Principals Cup.
