Ghana Football Association vice president George Afriyie says the naming of the Black Stars' new coach will not go beyond April.
The four-time African champions are on the search for a successor to Avram Grant, who left the role upon expiration of his contract last month.
According to reports, over 90 coaches, including four locals, have applied for the job.
"We are still in the process of naming our new coach and latest by April, I can assure you we will have a new coach," Afriyie told Asempa FM.
"They will be shortlisted and go through an interview procedure before we settle on the new man.
"The committee will make recommendation to the Executive Committee, who will have the final say on the report.
"They can either approve or reject what we present to them. So let's be patient and wait a little longer."
Reports say former Tottenham Hotspot manager Harry Redknapp, ex-Brazil and Real Madrid left-back Roberto Carlos and erstwhile Italy international Fabrizio Ravanelli are among the applicants.
Four locals comprising Kwesi Appiah, Kuuku Dadzie, Karim Abdul Razak and Bashir Hayford also submitted their CVs.
The GFA committee tasked to find the new coach is expected to announce a shortlist of between three to five following a meeting on Monday.
