Egypt want three points vs. Uruguay, says Hector Cuper

Egypt manager Hector Cuper has revealed the team’s desire to clinch the maximum points against Uruguay in their World Cup opener.

The Pharaohs meet Oscar Tabarez’s side on June 15 at the Ekaterinburg Arena, before games against other Group A teams, Russia and Saudi Arabia.

As part of their preparation for the showpiece, on Friday, the North Africans played a stalemate with Colombia, their second consecutive draw which irked the Argentine tactician.

However, he is hoping that his team will brace up and nick the three points when they confront the South Americans.

“We are not satisfied with the result of the Colombia game, we were not trying to end the game in a draw,” Cuper was quoted as saying on Kingfut.

“We hope we can clinch the three points against Uruguay and not just one point.

“We are testing the level of the Egyptian team with these tough ties before the official matches of the World Cup.”
