AmaZulu have won this competition once - in 1992 when it was still known as the Coca Cola Cup after defeating Kaizer Chiefs in the final.

Usuthu head coach Cavin Johnson will look to in-form striker Emiliano Tade when they take on the Buccaneers at home.

The Argentine striker has netted twice in his last three games in all competitions including one in a 1-1 draw with Pirates in a PSL match earlier this month.

Defender Tapelo Nyongo is expected to miss the match as he is currently nursing a hamstring injury.

Probable AmaZulu line-up: Mbatha, Sikhakhane, Van Heerden, Gumede, Ouro-Akoriko, Darpoh, Vilakazi, Karuru, Ncobeni, Tade, Ntuli.

Meanwhile, Pirates booked their place in the quarter-finals after edging out Chippa United 1-0 at home in a last 16 game almost a fortnight ago.

The Buccaneers then recorded their second successive win when they beat their Soweto rivals Kaizer Chiefs 2-1 at home in a PSL match last weekend.

They are looking to reach the Telkom Knockout semi-finals for the first time since 2016.

Although Bucs have taken part in seven finals, they have only won the competition once - in 2011 after defeating Bidvest Wits in the final.

The dangerman for Milutin Sredojevic's side is Augustine Mulenga, who has been in good form in recent times.

The Zambian forward picked up the man of the match award after Pirates' win over Chiefs and also scored against AmaZulu earlier this month.

Forward Luvuyo Memela and defender Mthokozisi Dube are currently out nursing injuries, while midfield maestro Musa Nyatama could make his return from injury this weekend.

Probable Pirates line-up: Mpontshane, Mobara, Maela, Munetsi, Jele, Mlambo, Motshwari, Lorch, Pule, Shonga, Mulenga.
