Wrexham snubbed! Jamie Vardy officially signs new Leicester contract despite links with move to join Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in League One

Vardy, who turned 37 in January, played a pivotal role in Leicester’s recent promotion back to the Premier League. In an interview with LCFC.com, Vardy expressed his excitement about the new contract and stated: "To get the numbers that I did [last season], I’m delighted with it, but there’s still more to come. I look after myself. I’ve always said that age is just a number. My legs feel fine so that’s why I carry on until my legs say ‘that’s it, game over’. There will be a day when that comes, but that’s not right now.

"We look forward to another season in the Premier League and seeing what we can do. One hundred per cent, it’s the best league in the world. That’s where you want to be playing your football.”

Vardy’s tenure at Leicester City is nothing short of legendary. During the Foxes' historic Premier League title-winning campaign in the 2015/16 season, Vardy scored 24 goals in all competitions. In the 2016/17 season, Vardy continued to shine on the European stage. His crucial away goal against Sevilla in the UEFA Champions League round of 16 helped Leicester secure a place in the quarter-finals.

Vardy’s decision to stay with Leicester will provide a significant boost to the team’s morale and ambitions. The Foxes will be looking to make a strong impact in their return to top-flight football and Vardy is expected to play a key role in their campaign.
