    The shocking Nabi story

Kaizer Chiefs are said to have reached a mutual agreement to part ways with head coach Nasreddine Nabi.

The former Young Africans tactician has been in charge of Amakhosi for just over a season, but questions have arisen about his coaching qualifications.

But ex-Chiefs defender Mokete Tsotetsi says Nabi's shocking departure will not negatively impact the Soweto giants.

What Tsotetsi thinks of Chiefs without Nabi

"It can work two ways," Tsotetsi said to Soccer Laduma.
"He didn’t start the season with the team, so if he is leaving, they would be left with the two assistants they were working with in the absence of the coach [Nabi].
"I don’t think it would affect the team that much to a point where it destabilises the team. They would still be working with faces they are used to before, so I don’t think it would affect them that much," added the retired footballer.
"I think it's better that this is happening early [in the season] rather than later. It's still early in the season, so they can still recover. And like I mentioned, working with the two coaches [Kaze and Ben Youssef] will be good for them because they know these coaches."

    Expectations remain high on Chiefs

Chiefs have only played six Premier Soccer League games so far this season, and that could give the incoming coach enough time to drill players into his methods.

If Nabi's assistants Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze take over, that will allow continuity of the work that has been done so far this term.

However, following a promising start to the PSL campaign, expectations remain high on Chiefs, especially to win the league title.

    What next?

Amakhosi were expected to leave for Luanda on Thursday for Saturday's CAF Confederation Cup preliminary round, first leg clash with Kabuscorp.

It is to be seen who will lead the team from the bench in that continental fixture.
