Orlando Pirates came from a goal down to beat Cape Town City 2-1 in the Premier Soccer League outing to continue their push for the title.
The visitors were determined to get an early goal; their efforts paid off in the 21st minute when Prins Tjiueza set up former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Haashim Domingo for an opener.
Bucs suffered a blow in the 62nd minute when Patrick Maswanganyi suffered an injury and was stretchered off the pitch.
However, his replacement Mohau Nkota did well to find Tshegofatso Mabasa in the danger zone five minutes after his introduction and the towering forward guided the ball into the net to make it 1-1.
When it looked like the spoils would be shared, Goodman Mosele scrambled the ball past the goalkeeper and into the back of the net after the defenders failed to deal with the danger.
The result is definitely what Pirates wanted since they are now nine points behind leaders Mamelodi Sundowns who have played two more games.
Bucs are second with 36 points from the 15 games they have played in the ongoing campaign.
City remain 10th on the table with 21 points from 19 outings.
