U.S. international James Sands has made his debut at St. Pauli, coming on as a late substitute in the club's 1-0 loss to Eintracht Frankfurt.
Sands recently joined St. Pauli on a six-month loan from New York City FC, with the move being made official on New Year's Day. With his side chasing the game, the 24-year-old American was thrown right into the fire for a debut on Saturday, subbing on at the 78th minute.
Sands didn't get to do much, but he did complete four of his five passes in the brief moments he did get on the ball. St. Pauli, though, couldn't secure a result, with a goal from goalscoring sensation Omar Marmoush winning it for Frankfurt.
