    WHAT HAPPENED?

Die-hard Kaizer Chiefs supporter Mlindelwa Tyekana has denied assertions that he abandoned the club for his Eastern Cape hometown team Chippa United.

Man-B, as the outspoken Amakhosi supporter is affectionately known, was unexpectedly seen endorsing Chippa at the Buffalo City Municipality Stadium last week.

Consequently, some Chiefs fans and football enthusiasts, in general, criticized Man-B for his behavior, however, Tyekana has now addressed these critics.

    WHAT MAN B SAID

"People are fabricating stories. I will never leave Kaizer Chiefs, Kaizer Chiefs is my home. Kaizer Chiefs is like a family to me. Here at Chippa United, I'm just helping our team from my province to get more support," Tyekana told Kick-Off

"As supporters of football in the Eastern Cape, we need to take care of football because it's only Chippa United who can bring us Kaizer Chiefs in the Eastern Cape, it's only Chippa United who can bring us Orlando Pirates, it's only Chippa United who can bring us Mamelodi Sundowns.

"So, on the video, I was telling all football lovers in the Eastern Cape: 'Let's go and support Chippa United so that it can avoid relegation'," he added.

"Chippa brings our favourite teams closer to us. Some of our fellow supporters don't have money to travel to Gauteng to watch the Big Three."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

The prominent Chiefs fan, who is also a musician, is known for his candidness when engaging with fans of other clubs when the Soweto giants lose matches.

If Man-B, who operates businesses in security and construction, ultimately decides to leave the Motaung-owned club, he would be following in the path taken by Mama Joy (Joyce Chauke), who departed from Orlando Pirates to join Royal AM.

WHAT NEXT FOR CHIEFS & CHIPPA?

Coincidentally, Chiefs will face Chippa United in a PSL match on December 29 at the Moses Mabhida Stadium.

It will be intriguing to see Tyekana's response to the game's outcome, especially if the Glamour Boys were to lose.
