SuperSport United braced to lose Shandre Campbell to European club! Agent confirms deal in the works for teenage sensation

Shandre Campbell is on this debut PSL season with SuperSport United and has turned himself into one of the club's key players.That has already seen the 18-year-old being linked with Mamelodi Sundowns as well as an overseas move. Former Masandawana captain Hlompho Kekana wants the youngster to ignore local interest and consider moving to Europe, something the player's agent Mike Makaab says they are prioritising.

WHAT HAPPENED?

“Our aim and objective is to keep Shandre Campbell’s dream of playing in Europe alive,” Makaab told <a href="https://farpost.co.za/2024/05/04/makaab-makes-vow-on-shandre-campbells-possible-transfer-move/" target="_blank">FARPost.</a>"He wants to play in Europe, and we are working on a couple of things behind the scenes.“We have seen in his first year with SuperSport’s first team that Campbell is a talented player who has a bright future ahead of him," he added. “So it’s our responsibility to make sure that we make his dream of playing in Europe alive. We are confident that it can happen at the end of the season."

WHAT MAKAAB SAID

Makaab's remarks might frustrate Kaizer Chiefs and Orlando Pirates if they are interested in the player.But if Sundowns make an official bid for Campbell, they would usually be ready to counter offers from European clubs. The Brazilians are known for going big in the market when it comes to player acquisitions.It is to be seen if they will seriously pursue the SuperSportstarlet after signing players from SuperSport like Teboho Mokoena, Aubrey Modiba, Grant Kekana, Thapelo Maseko and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams in recent seasons.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

With Makaab having set a target of securing a new overseas club for Campbell before the end of this season, it is to be seen which would be his next destination.For now, the attacker is focused on helping SuperSport finish the season on a high as their top-two bid is currently in shambles.
