Kaizer Chiefs are getting it wrong on all aspects of the pitch something that has piled pressure on all the departments. They started the season hoping to end their trophy drought, but that is seemingly impossible and the only realistic chance is to challenge for the Caf Champions League slot. It explains why the Glamour Boys legend Siphiwe Tshabalala insists on a change in management as well as players' mentality.

WHAT HAPPENED?

"Players need to know why they are there, they must not be familiar with the environment, don't get used to that place. It is a beautiful place, everything there, even matches [are like] for the top teams in Europe," the former Bafana Bafana attacker said in an interview on the Marawa Show."If you get familiar you become complacent, and after that it is mediocre and then you are gone. What I am seeing is that guys don't enjoy playing football, they don't see the [privilege] of playing for Kaizer Chiefs. "Yes, you can lose games, but leave everything on the pitch, and then we can say the boys gave their all," he continued."I think that is what is required, give your best, work hard, and leave everything on the field and the results will come."It is an issue that needs a helicopter view, I mean the management needs to [restructure] things and check how best they can turn things around."

WHAT TSHABALALA SAID

A while back, Chiefs Football Manager Bobby Motaung <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/bobby-defends-motaung-senior-s-leadership-amid-kaizer-chiefs-taking-long-to-end-trophy-drought-it-s-not-magic/blt3c129962d41f806d" target="_blank">had stated the club is headed in the right direction</a>.However, after the failure to achieve the set objectives, there were calls from all quarters urging Chairman Kaizer Motaung <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/remove-the-motaungs-and-enhance-professionalism-in-kaizer-chiefs-management-political-leader/blt8aa6cbf50c6caeeb#cs4a890487ad5aab15" target="_blank">to consider making massive changes</a>.Even the stakeholders believe the current crop of Amakhosi managers <a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/kaizer-motaung-might-have-to-kick-out-his-offspring-bobby-jessica-kaizer-jnr-or-sell-his-shares-in-order-to-restore-chiefs-glory-days-in-the-psl/blt51f9befb19bd0bb2#cs0c4b2c70e4b9eaed" target="_blank">are not the right ones to take the team forward</a>. Tshabalala is just the latest person to voice his concern hoping to see the club doing better in the 2024/25 season.

THE BIGGER PICTURE

The team is currently in the market for a top coach who can deliver a trophy in the new campaign since Cavin Johnson is serving on an interim basis. But eyes will be on Kaizer Motaung and the board to see if the management will be changed since it is obvious new ideas are needed.
