Shock Move! Talented defender leaves Kaizer Chiefs few months after joining Amakhosi from Orlando Pirates - REPORT

In the summer transfer window, Kaizer Chiefs signed seven players to bolster their squad.

Among the new faces were defenders Bongani Sam, Rushwin Dortley, Bradley Cross and Inacio Miguel.

Fiacre Ntwari was also signed from TS Galaxy to bolster the goalkeeping department.

Sam was deemed surplus to requirements by Orlando Pirates, and the Glamour Boys, who were in need of a defender, snapped him.

The left-back was injured during pre-season and since then, he has not been given a chance by Amakhosi.

Cross is the current first-choice left-back at the club with Thatayaone Ditlhokwe coming in when need be.

Edmilson Dove is also recovering from an injury, and Happy Mashiane is doing well which has prompted the Soweto giants to send Sam on loan.

"Kaizer Chiefs are understood to have agreed a loan transfer for defender Bongani Sam to join Magesi FC until the end of the season," SABC Sport reported.

"The 27-year-old has been working tirelessly to break into the line-up and impress Nabi enough to finally make his debut. But he will now leave without being able to convince the Tunisian mentor to put him to the test."

Sam has a massive opportunity at Dikwena Tsa Meetse to prove to Nabi that he can play a vital role in improving Chiefs.

The second round is always tough, and with Magesi FC at the bottom, it will be a massive test to see what he will do to help them.
