    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs and Magesi FC had agreed on doing business on Tuesday.

Former Orlando Pirates left-back Bongani Sam was to join the Carling Knockout champions on a loan deal.

Everything had been done, only for the deal to collapse in the last minute.

    WHAT HAS BEEN SAID

"It is understood that Magesi were keen on landing the former Orlando Pirates and Moroka Swallows full-back for the next few months, with the player even having completed a medical in Johannesburg prior to his trip to Limpopo," SABC Sport reported.

"The reigning Carling Knockout champions instead notified Amakhosi that they no longer have room for Sam, after they were unable to offload a few players of their own before the transfer deadline, while having to also pay a portion of his salary."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Since his move from Pirates, Sam has not made any competitive appearance for the Glamour Boys.

The 27-year-old now has no option but to stay and fight for his position at the club.

However, it will not be easy since Bradley Cross, Thatayaone Ditlhokwe, Happy Mashiane and Edmilson Dove are also eyeing the spot.

    WHAT NEXT?

Sam has to motivate himself and try to prove to Nasreddine Nabi, through training sessions, that he can be relied on.

Chiefs are desperate to get their consistency which might limit the Tunisian from taking risks especially the unproven players.
