PSL Wrap: Marumo Gallants extend winless run under league's youngest coach after Polokwane City draw

Marumo Gallants surrendered a slim lead to be held by Polokwane City at Dr Petrus Molemela Stadium on Sunday.

Bheki Mabuza opened the scoring for Gallants three minutes into the second half before Bonginkosi Dlamini hit back for the visitors on 62 minutes. 

After gaining a point, Gallants, who are under 28-year-old coach Alexander Lafitte, remain in position eight, but winless in three games following their first draw of the season, while City are 10th.

TS Galaxy jumped to position four on the table after beating Orbit College 3-1 at Dobsonville Stadium, where Kaizer Chiefs product Puso Dithejane missed a penalty. 

Seluleko Mahlambi scored the fastest goal of the season so far when he struck a minute into the match before Sphesihle Maduna made it 2-0 for the Rockets on 63 minutes.

Veteran Mpho Mvelase extended TS Galaxy's lead four minutes later while Ayanda Lukhele attempted to launch a comeback for Orbit with five minutes remaining.

But it was too late for the hosts even after their opponents went a man down after Lentswe Motaung was red-carded with two minutes to go.

Orbit remain second from the bottom in the standings.  

Sekhukhune United maintained their grip on top of the PSL standings when they beat visiting Durban City 2-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium on Saturday. 

Bradley Grobler handed Babina Noko the lead after 10 minutes in what was his 100th PSL goal before Thabang Monare doubled the hosts' lead five minutes later.

The result saw Sekhukhune remain as log leaders with 13 points, the same as second-placed Kaizer Chiefs, who have an inferior goal difference and Durban City are sixth. 

John Mokone's late strike saw Magesi claw back to grab a 1-1 draw with AmaZulu at Seshego Stadium on Saturday.

The visitors went ahead 17 minutes into the match through Thandolwenkosi Ngwenya before Magesi equalised right at the death.

Following the draw, Usuthu are now seventh on the table while Magesi are 14th.  

Siwelele FC played Richards Bay in the Premier Soccer League fixture that was staged at Dr. Molemela Stadium.

It ended goalless despite the chances created by either team. 

Siwelele are now on placed 11th place with four points while the Natal Rich Boys are a place lower with as many points but with an inferior goal difference. 

Pressure is mounting on coach Lehlohonolo Seema - the former Orlando Pirates defender - as Siwelele are now winless in four matches, having lost three games in row.
