Phil Parkinson sounds ‘end up at the bottom’ warning as Wrexham set another ambitious target under Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds & Rob McElhenney

The Red Dragons have enjoyed a meteoric rise under their famous co-chairmen, with back-to-back promotions lifting them out of the National League and into the third tier of English football. The Welsh outfit have acquired a taste for tangible success.

The intention is to savour more in 2024-25, with Wrexham settling quickly in League One. Prominent figures at SToK Racecourse have been happy to state in public that another top-six finish is the ultimate target for all concerned. Parkinson is buying into that way of thinking, with it important to dream big.

He has said of Wrexham’s ambition for the months ahead, which should help to ward off the threat of any complacency: “Every season I have ever been in as a manager or a player, you have got to aim to be at the top. That is not getting carried away because if you aim for the middle then you can end up in the bottom. We have got to have dreams but there are so many teams in this division who will fancy their chances this season.”

Wrexham have picked up four points from their opening two games this season, with victory over Wycombe followed by stalemate at Bolton. A bid to continue climbing the table, as sights are set on reaching the Championship, will once again by covered by the club’s popular documentary series.
