'I want to come back' - Paul Pogba admits he's desperate for Juventus return and would 'give up money' to make it happen

After being handed an 18-month doping ban, which was reduced from the initial four years, the French midfielder is eyeing a comeback on the field in March. However, speculation is mounting that Pogba may depart Juventus before that, with rumours of a possible move to Marseille in the upcoming January transfer window. Pogba’s contract with Juventus runs until the summer of 2026, but the club is reportedly working on finding an exit route at the earliest.

Speaking to Gazzetta dello Sport, Pogba admitted that his passion for Juventus remains strong and is ready to make financial sacrifices just to don the famed black and white stripes once again.

“I am willing to give up money to play for Juventus again. I want to come back,” Pogba said.

Pogba’s dedication to proving his worth on the pitch remains unwavering, as he emphasised that his performance, not his words, would determine his future.

“The pitch has to talk, not me," Pogba added. "[Juventus head coach] Thiago [Motta] will judge with his own eyes on the basis of what he sees. Gossip is all good but I want to play and at Juventus and for France I want to be the best.”

Despite Pogba’s eagerness to return, Motta has taken a cautious approach, stating that the club will "evaluate" Pogba’s situation as he "hasn't played for a long time". Since his return to Turin in 2022, Pogba has made just nine appearances for Juventus, with only one of those as a starter. The lack of consistent playing time, coupled with his recent legal troubles, has fuelled speculation that the Bianconeri want to part ways with him in the near future.

Adding to the uncertainty surrounding Pogba’s future is the fact that his iconic No. 10 jersey was handed to Turkish international Kenan Yildiz earlier in the summer. This symbolic move hinted at Juventus preparing for life without Pogba, further intensifying rumours of a potential exit. He was once the club's highest earner alongside striker Dusan Vlahovic but The Athletic report that he has now been placed on the minimum wage according to an agreement between the clubs and Italy’s Players’ Association (AIC).

Juventus remain unbeaten in Serie A this campaign and will return to action against Lazio this Saturday. They are third in the standings with 13 points from seven matches, three behind leaders Napoli.
