Speaking during the Kaizer Chiefs media open day, goalkeeper Bruce Bvuma was asked who he thinks deserves the PSL Player of the Season award.&nbsp; Lately, there have been a lot of debates on who has been outstanding throughout the season,<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/mamelodi-sundowns-coach-rhulani-mokwena-chooses-ronwen-williams-over-orlando-pirates-patrick-maswanganyi-as-his-pick-for-the-psl-footballer-of-the-season-award/blted2dd4602d5b89cc" target="_blank"> with Orlando Pirates star Patrick Maswanganyi in contention amongst others.&nbsp;</a>However, Bvuma believes that Williams should be the one to receive the prestigious individual award for this season.&nbsp;

WHAT HAPPENED?

"For me, Ronwen has done more than enough looking at his performances from the previous season to this season,”&nbsp; Bvuma told the media on Thursday.&nbsp;"Going to Afcon, the way he has been performing. For me, I don’t see a need for him to not get this award, he has worked very hard.“Yes, he is a goalkeeper but it’s not like he’ll be the first goalkeeper to receive the Footballer of the Season," he added.&nbsp; "So, for me, he has done enough [to win the Player of the Season accolade] but then who am I? Whoever is voting will do the job."&nbsp;

WHAT WAS SAID

Leratong-born goalkeeper Bvuma, who turned 29 on Wednesday, has admitted that he draws inspiration from Wiliams.“He inspires me a lot because he’s a national team number one, I mean he’s doing very well continentally, he’s doing very well for his club,” admitted Bvuma.&nbsp; “This is someone that every goalkeeper would want to share a dressing room with, in the national team and compete with him.”

The three-time PSL Goalkeeper of the Season has kept 14 clean sheets this season so far in the PSL and his team is also in the Nedbank Cup final with Sundowns.The Bafana Bafana captain has already<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/official-mamelodi-sundowns-thump-kaizer-chiefs-to-claim-seventh-consecutive-psl-title/blt3abf8e8fd7ffeaf5" target="_blank"> won the league title </a>with the Brazilians with six games left in the current campaign.&nbsp;

Williams is expected to lead Hugo Broos' team when they face Nigeria and Zimbabwe in the Fifa World Cup qualifiers in June.&nbsp;Meanwhile, Bvuma could benched in the remaining games should Amakhosi decide to give the veteran<a href="https://www.goal.com/en-za/lists/end-of-itumeleng-khune-s-playing-career-kaizer-chiefs-to-honour-veteran-goalkeeper-in-final-home-match-against-polokwane-city/blt01c397ba5f67df00" target="_blank"> goalkeeper Itumeleng Khune a chance to play as part of honouring him.</a>
