    Siyabonga Mpontshane - 8/10

The reason why Pirates did not lose the game.

Mpontshane produced several good saves to keep the hosts at bay and he also dealt well with aerial balls which were played into his area.

  2. Kwanda Mngonyama, Orlando Pirates, July 2021
    Orlando Pirates

    Kwanda Mngonyama - 6/10

Finally made his competitive debut for the Buccaneers.

Mngonyama spent much of the match in his own area as Diables upped the ante and he was solid defensive, but he didn't offer much going forward.

  3. Paseka Mako, Orlando Pirates, January 2021

    Paseka Mako - 7/10

Adventurous and fearless in the left flank.

Mako drove forward with great purpose and delivered some decent crosses, while also looking solid defensively.

  4. Bongani Sam Orlando Pirates

    Bongani Sam - 7/10

Marked his return to the starting line-up with a good display.

Sam charged off his line a few times to get the ball forward, but never at the cost of his defensive responsibilities as made some important interceptions.

  5. Happy Jele, Orlando Pirates, September 2021

    Happy Jele - 7/10

Assured display at the back as an organizer.

Jele's positional sense was good and made some important interceptions when the Pirates defence was under pressure.

  6. Abel Mabaso, Orlando Pirates, September 2021

    Abel Mabaso - 7/10

A fine performance in midfield against Diables.

Mabaso provided good cover for the back-four and also ventured forward to help the Buccaneers as they pressed the hosts.

  7. Fortune Makaringe, Orlando Pirates, January 2021

    Fortune Makaringe - 6/10

Looked to carry the ball forward from midfield on his return to the starting line-up.

Makaringe was good on the ball and showed great vision, but he was careless with his tackles when he had to help his side defend.

  8. Siphesihle Ndlovu, Orlando Pirates, February 2021

    Siphesihle Ndlovu - 5/10

Tried too hard to impress on his return to the team.

Ndlovu struggled under pressure in midfield when the Diables upped the ante and he was replaced by Collins Makgaka.

  9. Kabelo Dlamini, Orlando Pirates, October 2020

    Kabelo Dlamini - 5/10

Cut a forlorn figure in attack as he struggles to cement his place in the starting line-up.

Dlamini was unsurprisingly the first Pirates player to be substituted just after the hour-mark.

  10. Bandile Shandu, Orlando Pirates, August 2021
    Backpagepix

    Bandile Shandu - 5/10

Looked to make things happen for Pirates in attack.

However, Shandu's passes and crosses were inaccurate and he was pulled out in the closing stages of the game

  11. Tshegofatso Mabasa of Orlando Pirates, September 2021
    Backpagepix

    Tshegofatso Mabaso - 6/10

Showed more attacking intent than his fellow front three attackers.

Mabasa was able to get himself in good goalscoring situations, but he was let down by his poor finishing in the final third.

  12. Thabang Monare, Orlando Pirates, January 2021
    Backpagepix

    Thabang Monare - 6/10

A breath of fresh air and drew some fouls out of Diables' players with his intelligent runs from midfield and he also forced a great save out of goalkeeper Giscard Mavoungou.

  13. Collins Makgaka, Orlando Pirates, November 2020
    Backpagepix

    Collins Makgaka - 5/10

Subbed in the 76th minute to inject some firepower, but to futile effect with the hosts doing well to contain him.

  14. Thulani Hlatshwayo, Orlando Pirates, August 2021

    Thulani Hlatshwayo - 6/10

Also came on in the 76th minute and impressed with his short cameo in Bucs' defence - making some crucial clearances.

  15. Nkanyiso Zungu, Orlando Pirates, November 2020

    Nkayiso Zungu - N/A

Came on in the 84th minute and it was too late to warrant a rating.
