Magesi surprise
Last season, Magesi became the champions after beating Masandawana in Bloemfontein. The club made history by becoming the first side to win a major knockout competition in their maiden campaign in the top flight.
They will start their title defence with a game against AmaZulu.
After Bucs were knocked out in the first round, Pirates hope this season they will have a far better campaign.
