    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs are still in the market for a striker to strengthen their attack, which has been shaky for several seasons.

Flavio Silva was signed a couple of weeks ago, but early signs have not been encouraging, explaining why the Glamour Boys see a need to sign another forward.

Amakhosi have been linked with Etiosa Ighodaro, but reports have it that administrative issues have made it hard for them to complete the deal.

On Thursday, Molefi Ntseki named his Chan squad, and among those confirmed was Zakele Lepasa.

The Bafana Bafana international's club status indicated he has already parted ways with Orlando Pirates, who had not confirmed the forward's exit.

The Buccaneers have since announced that the 28-year-old is not part of their plans anymore.

    WHAT NEXT?

Last season, Lepasa struggled owing to injuries, but even when he recovered, former coach Jose Riveiro did not give him a chance.

Lepasa had a fruitful 2023/24 campaign, where he scored 10 goals in the 23 matches played across all competitions.

Coach Nasreddine Nabi and Chiefs management can give him a chance, as they have done with Thabiso Monyane and Paseka Mako.
