    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs' attacking department has been one of the club's main concerns in recent years.

The strikers that were brought on board struggled to deliver consistently, inviting changes in almost every transfer window.

Ranga Chivaviro and Christian Saile are the latest players who have struggled to find the back of the net on a regular basis.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In the ongoing transfer window, Amakhosi signed towering striker Flavio Silva to solve the problem.

However, early signs have not been convincing, which prompted the management to act before it is too late.

They have now confirmed the signing of Etiosa Ighodaro from Mamelodi Sundowns.

  • WHAT CHIEFS SAID

Kaizer Chiefs have acquired the services of another striker, Etiosa Ighodaro.

The 24-year-old Nigerian arrived in South Africa in July 2021 and has played for several PSL outfits, scoring a total of 25 goals in 97 appearances. He spent last season on loan with AmaZulu FC.

    AND WHAT IS MORE

Amakhosi Sporting Director Kaizer Motaung Jr. has exuded confidence that the Nigerian will deliver for Amakhosi.

"We warmly welcome Etiosa into the Kaizer Chiefs family. We're excited that he has joined our journey.

"His passion, work rate and dedication will surely add to the team this season and beyond. We look forward to creating unforgettable moments together in the Gold & Black colours of the Glamour Boys.

"Here’s to new beginnings and the spirit of Amakhosi," he concluded.

  • WHAT NEXT?

Flavio Silva has not made his Premier Soccer League debut with the club, and the reason for the decision has not been given.

The introduction of Ighodaro will provide the much-needed competition in the attacking department, as well as give coach Nasreddine Nabi options.
