    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Pirates are the defending Nedbank Cup champions, having won the last two editions, defeating Mamelodi Sundowns and Sekhukhune United, respectively.

Sundowns will be eager to win this year's edition after losing in the final in 2024. Moreover, this is another chance for Chiefs to end their almost-decade trophy drought.
