    WHAT HAPPENED?

Coach Nasreddine Nabi was in charge of Kaizer Chiefs in the pre-season, preparing his team for the new campaign.

However, prior to the game against Stellenbosch, the tactician was forced to travel urgently to attend to a family emergency.

He has not yet returned to Mzansi to attend to his duties.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

In the absence of the former AS FAR Rabat coach, the Soweto giants have had a perfect start to the 2025/26 Premier Soccer League campaign.

They have won back-to-back games against Stellies and Polokwane City, respectively, without conceding.

The excellent start has put them top of the Premier Soccer League table, and some have even asked whether assistant coach Khalil Ben Youssef is delivering without his boss.

    WHAT BEN YOUSSEF SAID

“I think if the coach is here or is not here… we are technical staff, all of us are familiar, we work together, we keep in contact every day,” he told the media.

“Every training session we discuss, we meet via Zoom with the technical staff to discuss all the plans.

“We prepare the team together; Yes, physically, Coach Nabi is not here, but he’s with us, we work together, we are a team.

“We help each other, and we don’t think about who is not here, who is here – all technical staff work together," Ben Youssef concluded.
