    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs winger Teboho Potsane has vowed to help Nasreddine Nabi's team win matches by creating opportunities and scoring goals as he returns to action.

The 31-year-old was brought on at half-time and played the entire second half in Amakhosi's disappointing loss to Polokwane City last week after being out for eight months due to a severe injury.

Potsane exhibited signs of quality against Rise and Shine, and with Chiefs' important upcoming match against TS Galaxy, the Bloemfontein-born attacker pledged to contribute positively.

    WHAT POTSANE SAID

"I’m really happy that the injury is behind me and I can now focus on playing. It was not easy at all watching from the sidelines due to injury but I’m grateful to have received the support from my family, team doctors and physios, teammates and technical team," Potsane told the club's media department.

"I’m really thrilled to be back in the team and looking forward to getting more game time. I want to contribute to helping the team do well this season. As an attacking player, my job is to create goalscoring opportunities, assist, or score and that’s what I’ve been working on.

"The supporters have been fantastic, and I urge them to continue backing us as we work hard on the pitch. We have put the previous game behind us and our focus is on the next assignment against TS Galaxy on Monday," he added.

"The game is important for us and we need to work hard to ensure that we come back from Nelspruit with three points. We know the team and we’ve studied their games. We have to apply ourselves and ensure we apply ourselves."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Since arriving at the Chiefs in July 2023, Potsane has played only twelve matches and he has accumulated two assists across all competitions.

His stay at the Glamour Boys has thus far been hampered by an injury that also led him to miss a team's pre-season training camp in Turkey in July, coinciding with Nabi's arrival.

The Soweto giants are expected to reinforce their roster in the forthcoming January transfer window after struggling in front of goal, with forwards like Ranga Chivaviro and Ashley du Preez failing to score goals regularly.
