    WHAT HAPPENED?

Kaizer Chiefs are set for another season under coach Nasreddine Nabi, optimistic of an even better campaign as opposed to his debut.

In the concluded 2024/25 season, the Tunisian delivered the Nedbank Cup, which was Amakhosi's first major title in a decade.

However, they struggled in the Premier Soccer League and ended up finishing ninth, just a position higher than the previous year.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

More pressure is expected for Nabi and his players in the 2025/26 edition, where Amakhosi are set to compete in the Caf Confederation Cup as well as the usual domestic assignments.

The club has already brought in six new faces that they feel will improve the quality of the team and push the Glamour Boys to Glory.

That is exactly what is needed, according to the former club's striker, Justice Sithole. He insists that without massive quality in the team, Amakhosi stand no chance of winning the PSL.

    WHAT SITHOLE SAID

“Things have changed a lot from back in the day to now, but it’s a good thing that they managed to turn the tables by winning the Nedbank Cup last season,” he told FARPost

“You need to have quality players who understand the team if you really want to compete for major trophies.

“I think that at the moment, after the Nedbank Cup final, Chiefs can take it from there and move forward," Sithole concluded.

    WHAT NEXT?

Even before thinking about winning the Premier Soccer League, Nabi has to ensure his team grinds results across all competitions.

From there, they can get the confidence to deliver the league they last won 10 years ago.
