    WHAT HAPPENED?

Midfielder Mduduzi Mdantsane has disclosed the reason for leaving Kaizer Chiefs to sign with another Premier Soccer League team, Richards Bay.

The seasoned midfield maestro left Amakhosi during the recent January transfer window to join the Natal Rich Boys on a loan deal until the end of the season.

Mdantsane, who left the Naturena-based giants without making a single appearance in the 2024/25 season, has shared why he chose to join Richards Bay.

    WHAT MDANTSANE SAID

"Well, it was a mutual agreement between the team and me. I felt I needed some time to play and getting an opportunity to work with Richards Bay as they have a lot of young talents in the team and how they play football," Mdantsane told FARPost

"I believed it would suit my style of football and also enjoy myself on the field. So, I feel blessed and grateful to work with the team.

"My stay at Chiefs hasn’t been that long, but as a player, I always try to enjoy each and every moment to be on the field and environment. So, to sum it all up, it has been great and blessed to be around."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Mdantsane joined Chiefs from Cape Town City on a three-year contract at the start of the last season but faced injury challenges upon his arrival.

The Leandra-born star had made just 16 appearances at Amakhosi before moving to Richards Bay, where he has played once from the substitute bench thus far.

After beginning the current season with an injury and only recovering near the end of 2024, Mdantsane now has an opportunity to regain his form at the KZN side until June.
