Marumo Gallants unveil forward linked with Orlando Pirates Jaisen Clifford and ex-Kaizer Chiefs star Darrel Matsheke

Premier Soccer League side Marumo Gallants have unveiled their new players ahead of the 2025-26 Premier Soccer League season.

The new recruits were unveiled on Monday as Gallants also introduced Lafitte Alexandre, who is the new head coach.

Former Kaizer Chiefs star Darrel Matsheke is among the new players at Marumo, as well as Jaisen Clifford, who was previously linked with a move to Orlando Pirates.

Other players introduced are Teboho Motloung, Bongolwethu Siyase, Abram Tjahikika, Simo Luthuli, Shaun Morgan, Kamohelo Sithole, Karabo Khoza, and Bheki Mabuza.

Apart from Pirates, Clifford is reported to have generated interest from two other PSL clubs, but all this speculation has been ended after he was unveiled by Gallants.

 Before he signed for Gallants, the Mpumalanga-born star played for Bulgarian side Etar Veliko Tarnovo. His contract is understood to have ended on June 30, paving the way for his exit from a club he served since March 2024.

He served Sportist Svoge on loan from January, and in 33 appearances across all competitions, he scored seven goals and provided an assist.

Gallants are rebuilding after releasing Dino Ndlovu, Ibrahima Conte, Kenneth Nthatheni, Theodore Shai, Kamohelo Mahlatsi, Gabadinho Mhango, Kopano Thuntsane, Vusi Sibiya, Daniel Akpeyi, Junior Dion, Yanga Mjoli, and Masindi Nemtajela.

After unveiling the new signings, eyes will be on the club to see which additional players will be added before the transfer window closes.
