Mamelodi Sundowns win big at PSL awards, Orlando Pirates pick up the crumbs as Mokwena and Mokoena bag major gongs

Mamelodi Sundowns star, Teboho Mokoena walked away with the biggest award of the season when he was named the Premier Soccer League's Footballer of the Season.

The Masandawana anchorman fended off strong competition from teammate and goalkeeper Ronwen Williams, and Orlando Pirates' Monnapule Saleng to win the coveted award.

Meanwhile, his head coach, Rhulani Mokwena, who led Downs to a sixth successive league crown, was named the PSL Coach of the Season, beating Pirates' Jose Riveiro and outsider, Gavin Hunt. Riveiro won two trophies for the Sea Robbers this season, while Hunt guided SuperSport United to a third-place finish.
