    S. Africa news & squads

Bafana Bafana coach Hugo Broos is set to do without his trusted soldiers like Khuliso Mudau, who lacks match fitness.

The Belgian was forced to replace the injured duo of Patrick Maswanganyi and Ime Okon with Sipho Mbule and Thabo Moloisane, respectively.

Themba Zwane is also out owing to the same reason; however, eyes will be on Kaizer Chiefs youngster Mduduzi Shabalala, who has been given an opportunity to underline his worth.

  • Lesotho news & squads

Coach Leslie Notsi has included five players who are based in South Africa in his 24-man Crocodiles' squad.

Veteran midfielder Tsoarelo Bareng, Sekhoane Moerane, Fusi Matlabe, Sekhoane Moerane, and Leslie Notsi will bring the Mzansi experience to the team.

Ex-Sekhukhune United midfielder Teboho Letsema and former Richards Bay winger Katleho Makateng have also made the team.

    Head-to-head and recent form

Hugo Broos' South Africa has been performing quite well across all competitions.

The most recent outing for the Belgian was in the most recent international break, where Bafana Bafana played Tanzania and Mozambique in international friendly fixtures. They drew 0-0 with Taifa Stars before beating Os Mambas 2-0.

In the 2026 World Cup qualifiers, South Africa have managed four wins, a draw, and a loss in the six outings.

Lesotho's last engagements since the World Cup qualifiers in March were during the COSAFA Cup, where they won one game and lost two.

In the head-to-head record, both teams have two wins from the five games played across all competitions, with the remaining three ending in draws.

The last game ended 2-0 in favour of Bafana Bafana, but the Crocodiles argue they should have received the points after their hosts fielded an ineligible player, Teboho Mokoena.
