Harambee Stars coach Sébastien Migné named a provisional squad of 38 players to start preparations for upcoming qualifier against Ghana.

Among the players making his first list since replacing coach Paul Put, are injured captain Victor Wanyama and suspended defender Brian Mandela.

Goal parades some of the players, who should have been included in the squad owing to their performances in the Kenyan league this season.

  1. Harun Shakava - Gor Mahia

#1 Harun Shakava - Gor Mahia

He is one of the best center backs in the Kenyan Premier League. Shakava has been one of the factors at Gor Mahia, always throwing his body on the line. Having faced the best sides in Africa and getting experience from it alongside Joash Onyango, the former Kakamega Homeboyz star should have been among the first players on the provisional list.

  2. Dennis Sikhayi - AFC Leopards

#2 Dennis Sikhayi - AFC Leopards

Jockins Atudo over Dennis Sikhayi! How can you go for a defender, who has been making costly mistakes when turning out for his club Posta Rangers, and leave out someone, who is performing? When he was given a chance in the Cecafa competition, he proved his doubters wrong, why has he been overlooked? One of the best right backs in the country.

  3. Michael Madoya - Zoo Kericho
    Goal Kenya.

#3 Michael Madoya - Zoo Kericho

Apart from Francis Kahata and Whyvonne Isuza, Michael Madoya is arguably one of the best creative players in the Kenyan Premier League. The reason behind his snub is still a puzzle to many. He is a game changer and can score goals as well; how do you overlook a player, who has scored ten goals from his creative role so far this season?

  4. Humphrey Mieno - Gor Mahia
    Goal Kenya.

#4 Humphrey Mieno - Gor Mahia

Many will argue that McDonald Mariga should be given a chance ahead of Mieno, but when was the last time did the former deliver for the national team? The bitter truth is that Mariga's time in the national team is over, Mieno has been active both locally and in Caf Confederation Cup for Gor Mahia and deserves to make the squad.

  5. Yemi Mwana - Bandari
    Goal Kenya.

    #5 Yemi Mwana - Bandari

Mwana is one of the reasons why Bandari is flying high in the Kenyan league this season, a natural hard worker, who is blessed with pace and intelligence. Does it mean his recent form does not matter? The former Sony Sugar striker can win you a game with his work rate on the pitch.

  6. Elvis Rupia - Power Dynamos
    Goal Kenya.

#6 Elvis Rupia - Power Dynamos

There is no harm in giving a player a chance to prove his worth in the team. Rupia was the most on-form player in the KPL, scoring a total of fifteen goals before decamping to Zambia. If a striker scores such number of goals, is he not worth the consideration? What did Masoud Juma do better than Rupia?
