    WHAT KHUNE SAID

“Unfortunately, I didn’t get to face him last season. I remember I was on the bench and I was looking at him closely, and I was like, how can this guy be such a great player? And like he has shown South Africans what he is made of, and that guy is something else," he told SNL24.

“You look at those goals. He makes football look so easy. I saw a video of Ribeiro doing the same thing, perfecting his skill. That’s what you need when you call yourself a 24-hour pro,” Khune concluded.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Ribeiro has consistently delivered for the reigning Premier Soccer League champions.

This season, Downs hope to successfully defend their PSL title, as well as the Caf Champions League and the Nedbank Cup.

The South African heavyweights are also relying on Ribeiro in their bid to deliver in the extended 2025 Fifa Club World Cup assignment.

    WHAT NEXT?

Last season, Ribeiro came close to winning the Golden Boot in the PSL but finished behind Tshegofatso Mabasa and Iqraam Rayners.

In the ongoing campaign, he hopes to go all the way and inspire Sundowns to deliver as anticipated.
