    WHAT HAPPENED?

    Chivaviro arrived at Kaizer Chiefs as one of the standout signings of the 2023-24 season, having netted 17 goals for Marumo Gallants and played a key role in their run to the Caf Confederation Cup semi-finals.
    However, his time at Amakhosi fell short of expectations, leading the club to forgo the option of extending his contract by a further year.

    WHAT CHIEFS SAID?

    “Kaizer Chiefs will not be extending striker Ranga Chivaviro's contract when it expires at the end of the month,” the club shared in a statement

    “We thank Ranga for his positive contribution to the team and wish him all the best in his future exploits,” it concluded.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

    The Limpopo-born attacker joined Amakhosi from Marumo Gallants in the 2023-24 season on a two-year deal. 

    He scored nine goals and provided one assist in 45 official matches wearing Chiefs colours.

    Following a disappointing ninth-place finish in the 2024/25 Premier Soccer League season, Kaizer Chiefs supporters are calling for significant changes within the club. With Chivaviro on the departure list, attention now turns to who else could be heading for the exit.
