Juventus and Inter: Derby d'Italia on the transfer market for Samuele Inacio

Samuele Inacio is no longer an unfamiliar name in Italian football. The 2008-born talent, son of Inacio Pià, a forward who had spells at Napoli, Catania and Atalanta, has broken through over the last two years. He even made his debut for the senior Italy national team in the now famous friendlies overseen by interim head coach Silvio Baldini.

After coming through Atalanta's youth academy, he was snapped up by Borussia Dortmund at 16 for a bargain fee and taken to Germany as part of a fast-tracked, ambitious development plan aimed all the way at the first team. Last year brought his senior debut and first Bundesliga goal, which led the German club to tie him down to a new deal until 30 June 2029.

This year Samuele began the season without fear and eager for more minutes and experience. But the start of the campaign has brought him only three minutes in the Bundesliga, and after changing agent in the summer, his new agency have started listening to interest and approaches from Italy, which have never stopped.

According to Tuttosport, Juventus are the club to have made a concrete move in recent days. While working as an intermediary on Randal Kolo Muani's return to Juventus, Edoardo Crnjar was also asked for information about his new client Inacio. There is an openness to the transfer and a clear idea of the situation, even if there is still no real negotiation.

AC Milan tried to make a move a year ago, but Inter are now the Italian striker's fiercest rivals. Through the work of Dario Baccin, they will try to add more young Italian players to the squad.

Last summer, former sporting director Piero Ausilio also tried to make a move, but Dortmund rebuffed every approach that came in for him. Inter want to enter the market for a second striker who is strong in one-on-one situations, ideally young and Italian, and the new sporting director will soon revive that summer attempt with next season in mind.
