    WHAT HAPPENED?

Jamie Webber has made a move to the USA after signing for second-tier side FC Tulsa.

This ends his stint at Sekhukhune United, whom he joined before the start of last season.

Formerly a reported Kaizer Chefs transfer target, the midfielder's move to America comes as he was struggling for game time at Babina Noko this season.

    WHAT SEKHUKHUNE UNITED SAID

"The Babina Noko family bids fond farewell to midfielder, Jamie Webber, who is now a "Roughneck" - as his new American club, FC Tulsan, are fondly known," Sekhukhune announced on social media.

"We wish him everything of the best, in this new chapter!"

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

This is the first time for Webber to sign for a club outside South Africa after almost a decade of playing professional football locally.

But having signed for an American second-tier club, he would be hoping that would not work against his progression.

Naturally, playing club football overseas would have heightened his chances of featuring for Bafana Bafana, but playing on the lower division could work against him.

    WHAT NEXT FOR WEBBER?

FC Tulsa open their season with a visit to Phoenix Rising on March 9 and Webber could make his debut.

If given a chance to play, the former SuperSport United man would want to impress and enjoy more game time.
