In-form Kaizer Chiefs striker Lilepo says he’s settling in well at Naturena - 'There’s much room for improvement'

Glody Lilepo has made a strong impact at Kaizer Chiefs since his arrival in the January transfer window. The Congolese forward has scored six goals in 15 appearances, showing his quality and justifying the club's faith in him.

His pace, direct play, and eye for goal have added a new dimension to the Chiefs attack. Lilepo mentioned that he followed South African football before his move, which helped his quick adaptation. At 27, he believes he still has areas to improve and is working closely with the technical team to elevate his game.

He also expressed his happiness with life in South Africa and at Naturena. His attitude and performances have earned praise from coach Nasreddine Nabi. With more consistency, Lilepo could become a key figure for Chiefs next season.

"I think I have adapted pretty well, although there’s much room for improvement," the Congolese said as reported by Kickoff.

"I have followed SA football for many years and played multiple times against Mamelodi Sundowns in the CAF Champions League when I was playing for Al-Hilal in Sudan, so I knew where I was going when signing for Chiefs.

"From the facilities to Club operations, we have a lot of people working and taking care of us so we can focus on our mission. The management and staff do a lot to help us, the team, so we are aware that we must fight for them on the field."

Although Chiefs secured a trophy this season, winning the Nedbank Cup and missing out on a top-eight finish highlighted areas that need improvement. Coach Nasreddine Nabi has already held discussions with management about strengthening the squad for the upcoming season. The goal is to build a team capable of challenging on all fronts, and players like Lilepo will be crucial in that rebuild. Reinforcements in attack and midfield are expected to help Chiefs become more consistent. With the right additions, Amakhosi could finally mount a serious title challenge again.
