  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Kane joined Bayern Munich from Tottenham last summer in a blockbuster £100 million transfer. The striker made 320 Premier League appearances for Spurs, scoring 213 goals along the way. Newcastle legend Shearer is the division's all-time leading goalscorer with 260 goals, and he wasn't too enthusiastic about the idea of Kane one day returning to England and breaking his record.

On the Rest is Football podcast, host Gary Lineker asked Micah Richards if he thought Kane could one day return to break Shearer's record. The former Newcastle and England striker interrupted: "Yeah, stay away Harry, good lad."

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

There seems little chance that Kane will look to leave Bayern any time soon. The 30-year-old has enjoyed a superb start to life in the Bundesliga, scoring 22 goals and providing five assists in just 17 league outings. Despite that, Bayern currently find themselves seven points behind Bundesliga leaders Bayer Leverkusen.

  • DID YOU KNOW?

Kane's contract at the Allianz Arena is valid until 2027, but Spurs chairman Daniel Levy has revealed that the club have a clause that would enable them to bring Kane back. He told Bloomberg: "The actual precise detail of the contract with Bayern Munich should remain confidential.

"All I would say is if that one day Harry wanted to come back to the Premier League, and he wanted to come to Tottenham, we would have the ability to purchase him."

    WHAT NEXT FOR HARRY KANE?

While Kane would no doubt like to break Shearer's Premier League record one day - he is only 47 behind him - the striker's immediate focus is on winning a major trophy for the first time in his career. After a disappointing 1-0 defeat to Werder Bremen at the weekend, Kane and his Bayern team-mates will look to get back to winning ways against Union Berlin on Wednesday.
