  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Earlier this week it emerged that the England captain had ensured an exit clause was written into his Bayern contract following his move from Tottenham in 2023. After bagging a brace in his side's 3-0 Bundesliga win over Werder Bremen on Friday, the 31-year-old - who has been linked with a Premier League return - gave little away when pressed on the matter.

    WHAT HARRY KANE SAID

He told Sky Germany: "What I can say is that I'm very happy at FC Bayern. No comment on the clause."

Kane added on the Bremen win: "It was another nice game. There will always be tight games throughout the season, I want to take responsibility and open the game up. It's happened a few times this season which is good. I'm enjoying being out here with the boys. There's always room for improvement for myself personally, like the one I missed with the left foot today. But it's always nice to score."

  • THE BIGGER PICTURE

Reports suggest Kane could be available for €65 million (£54m) when the 2026 January transfer window rolls round, which could be a worthwhile purchase. The ex-Tottenham man, who will be 32 by next January, has scored 72 goals and bagged 22 assists in 73 matches for the German giants, and at present he is showing no signs of slowing down for them. Whether he returns to England remains to be seen.

    WHAT NEXT?

Kane's Bayern face a crunch week next week as they travel to Celtic in the Champions League play-offs on Wednesday and then are away to Bayer Leverkusen next Saturday in a top of the table clash.
