  • WHAT HAPPENED?

Tuchel started work as the new England manager in January and has been charged with leading the team to glory at the 2026 World Cup. The German has his side top of Group K in World Cup qualifying after three games, but his players have failed to impress in their most recent matches against Andorra and a friendly defeat to Senegal.

    THE BIGGER PICTURE

Captain Kane scored against both Andorra and Senegal and has now netted in his first four games under Tuchel with England. However, pundit Jamie O'Hara thinks that the Bayern striker isn't the right man to lead the national team at the World Cup and has explained why he thinks he creates problems for England.

  • WHAT O'HARA SAID

The former Tottenham star told Grosvenor Sport: "I think Harry Kane is a bit of a problem for England. Yes, he scored two goals in two games and has got 73 goals for his country, but if you want to press from the front and properly go after teams off the ball, he’s not the right person for the job. That’s why Tuchel put Morgan Rogers up front instead of Ivan Toney last night – because he can actually run around and start the press. Toney and Kane are too like-for-like. The problems lie with Kane. He’s everything England wants, but everything they don’t want as well! If they want to play high-energy football and press teams, then they’re going to need to get legs around him, because he’s pedestrian without the ball."

    WHAT NEXT FOR ENGLAND

Kane's goals for England mean he's now scored 73 times for the Three Lions and remains one of the most effective goalscorers in world football. Tuchel has plenty to think about regarding his team ahead of the World Cup, but there's no doubt that, for now at least, Kane remains one of the first names on his teamsheet.
