Fiston Mayele reveals contact with Nasreddine Nabi as Pyramids FC forward addresses Kaizer Chiefs transfer rumours

Pyramids FC forward Fiston Mayele has admitted Kaizer Chiefs coach Nasreddine Nabi contacted him last December.

The 30-year-old has been a Chiefs transfer target since his days at Young Africans, where he worked with Nabi.

He is left with a year on his Pyramids contract and that could make it difficult for his suitors to get him.

“Yes, it's true. The coach Nabi was in contact with me in December," Mayele said as per KickOff.

"But this is not the right moment to talk about it. I am focused on the final [Caf Champions League]. I want to stay focused on the final and finish the season, then I can talk, but at the moment, this is not the priority for now.

“I am happy to be here and try to help the team win. I was happy to score during the last match against Orlando Pirates. I am happy to play in the final, the first final for the club in the Caf Champions League," added the DR Congo international.

"I can't say I will score but for sure I want to help the team play well and that’s why I am here."

With Pyramids known as the Egyptian moneybags, Mayele might be earning comfortably at the club.

Chiefs might have to match or surpass what the Egyptians are paying the DR Congo striker.

But the Nabi effect might convince Mayele to consider coming to the Premier Soccer League and signing with Amakhosi.

In his remarks, Mayele has not ruled out signing for Chiefs as he is focused on the Caf Champions League final against Mamelodi Sundowns.

That could give Amakhosi hopes of having him come to Naturena.
