    THE EXPLANATION

The Daily Mail reports some England's players will turn a 'blind eye' to their social media channels to avoid distractions during the competition. This is amid the ongoing issue of online abuse directed at footballers.

The report adds that Bayern Munich striker Harry Kane and Arsenal midfielder Declan Rice are among the players who have steered clear of social media during international tournaments. In the 2022 World Cup, it was revealed that more than 1,500 abusive tweets were sent to England players during the group stages alone.
