Details of Karim Kimvuidi's FC Ashdod move revealed! DR Congolese attacker could return to Orlando Pirates

After missing put on Orlando Pirates' first two competitive matches of the 2025/26 season, Karim Kimvuidi resurfaced in Israel.

He featured for FC Ashdod last Saturday in a Cup game against Hapoel Tel Aviv and played the entire game.

Both Pirates and Ashdid have confirmed agreeing to a one-season loan deal for the player with the option of a permanent transfer to the Israeli club.  

"After receiving a glimpse of his abilities in the last game - the Congolese midfielder Karim Kimwedi signed with the club until the end of the season on loan with an option to purchase for another three years," Ashdod said.

"The 23-year-old attacking midfielder who can also play on the wings, comes to us from Orlando Pirates, whose team has won two trophies in the last two years in the South African Premier League." 

"Happy and excited for the new challenge that awaits me," the Congolese player said.

 "I'm very confident in my ability to help the team and can't wait for the league to start!"  

After being part of the group that went to Spain for pre-season training and also being registered for the 2025/26 season by Pirates, Kimvuidi appeared to be in coach Abdeslam Ouaddou's plans for the new season.

If the Congolese star thrives in Israel and the Buccaneers struggle for trophies, it could come back to haunt those who decided to loan out the skilful player.

For Kimvuidi, shining at his Ashdod could enhance his chances of being selected for the DR Congo national team ahead of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Cup finals.   

It is now to be seen whether Kimvuidi will be able to be at the top of his game and convince the Israeli club to permanently sign him.
