With two minutes to go to halftime, Depu headed in a free-kick by Pedro Bondo to hand Angola the lead.

Depu was back again to complete his brace when he connected a pass from Zini on 63 minutes.

Milson then extinguished any chances of a Bafana Bafana comeback by beating Thakasani Mbanjwa from a free-kick with eight minutes to go.

Palancas Negras won 3-0 and successfully defended the Cosafa Cup.

    THE MVP

Without doubt, 25-year-old Depu was the star of the show on Sunday following his brace against Bafana.

After being last year's Cosafa Cup top scorer with five goals, he improved himself to score eight goals this time around.

The striker spent last season in Serbia on loan at FK Vojvodina Novi Sad from Portuguese side Gil Vicente.

    THE BIG LOSER

It was a missed opportunity by South Africa to win a sixth Cosafa Cup title and they faltered right before their own supporters in Bloemfontein.

For coach Vela Khumalo, it was a lost chance to cement his name as a national team strategist following his exploits with the South Africa Under-17 national team, which qualified for the 2025 Fifa Under-17 World Cup.

    WHAT COMES NEXT?

Some of the Bafana players who participated in this Cosafa Cup edition would be hoping for another national team chance and take part in the African Nations Championship finals in August.

That would be another opportunity to attract the attention of coach Hugo Broos and get called up for the rest of the 2026 Fifa World Cup qualifiers as well as the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations tournament.

Angolan players like Depu are already in the first team and appear to have done enough to cement their national team spot.
