    The Chilli Boys are set to miss their experienced goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali, who was injured during their match against Richards Bay.

    The Nigerian was withdrawn in the 35th minute, and this injury could possibly make him miss the Super Eagles' upcoming 2026 World Cup qualifiers.

    Head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou will face Chilli Boys without one of his top stars, Relebohile Mofokeng, who is sidelined.

    The 20-year-old was not available for their last game against Orbit College after he joined the injury list and is expected not to take part at all in Sunday's game.

    Captain Nkosinathi Sibisi and Deano van Rooyen are also not available for the MTN8 2025 finalists.

    Although Chilli Boys managed to collect a point from Mamelodi Sundowns in their opening game, they went on to lose the next three games against Durban City, TS Galaxy, and Richards Bay.

    After starting the season badly with two straight losses, Pirates dusted themselves off and picked up six points from their last two home league games against Stellenbosch and Orbit College.

    Meanwhile, Pirates are unbeaten in their last nine league visits to Eastern Cape against Chippa, and Sunday's trip offers them the opportunity to extend dominance in this fixture. Out of the nine games, there has only been one draw.
