Chelsea to take a huge hit! Roma learn asking price for loanee Romelu Lukaku with Blues set to make a mammoth loss on £100m striker

Lukaku joined the Serie A side on loan with a no-buy option from Chelsea last summer after falling out of favour at Stamford Bridge. With his contract at the London club set to expire in 2026, the Blues will no longer send him on another loan spell next season and have reportedly set an asking price of €43m for the striker, according to Calciomercato.

The Belgium international has enjoyed a rich vein of form in the 2023/24 season having scored 15 goals in 26 matches across all competitions and has provided two assists. While the Giallorossi would like to retain the player's service beyond the ongoing campaign, the only way they can afford to sign Lukaku permanently next summer is if they manage to finish fourth in the Serie A and secure a Champions League spot.

Saudi Pro League side Al-Hilal are also eyeing a move for the 30-year-old forward and want to sign him on a two-year deal which will be worth €30m per season.

The former Manchester United and Inter star will be next seen in action for Daniel De Rossi's side in the Serie A on January 29 as they take on Salernitana.
