Are you watching, Man Utd? David De Gea's fine Fiorentina form rewarded with Player of the Month award after flawless October

De Gea is thriving in Serie A after resuming his career, following a year out of the game after his exit from Manchester United, in Florence with Fiorentina. The goalkeeper's performances have not gone unnoticed either as he has picked up the club's Player of the Month award for October. De Gea has played his part in four wins our of four for La Viola, kept two clean sheets and saved two penalties in those games.

De Gea's performances have helped the team into third place in the Serie A table, just a point behind early leaders Napoli. Fiorentina are already thinking about the future and are keen to activate a clause in De Gea's contract to extend his stay for another season, according to the Corriere dello Sport. The move will also see De Gea's wages at the Stadio Artemio Franchi doubled.

Now content with starring between the sticks, De Gea also has an assist to his name this season. The Spaniard recorded his second career assist when he sent Moise Kean away to score in Fiorentina's 3-1 win over Verona last time out.

De Gea has been able to enjoy a rest over the international break. He will return to action with his Fiorentina side on Sunday against Como, who are managed by former Spain team-mate Cesc Fabregas.
