Maresca responds firmly to the revenge talk of Brighton's manager

Enzo Maresca has moved quickly to dismiss suggestions that Gianluigi Donnarumma could be replaced as Manchester City's first-choice goalkeeper. Despite Geronimo Rulli emerging as the hero in a dramatic Carabao Cup penalty shootout victory over Brighton, the Italian boss insists his hierarchy between the sticks remains unchanged.

Brighton & Hove Albion are closely monitoring rising Juventus attacker Adin Licina following his impressive start to the season on loan in Italy's second tier. Fabian Hurzeler's side face stiff competition from Bundesliga outfit RB Leipzig and domestic rivals as they weigh up a potential winter approach for the German teenager.

Manchester City goalkeeper Geronimo Rulli has revealed he made a bold pre-match prediction to Enzo Fernandez before his penalty heroics against Brighton. The Argentine shot-stopper proved to be the difference-maker at the Etihad Stadium as Enzo Maresca’s side secured their place in the Carabao Cup quarter-finals.
